11/9/18

Today we took some more notes on deeper topics into population. I feel like we're learning the same thing we learned last unit but apparently it's just deeper into population. We talked about the summary of spatial patterns. Developed countries have lower rates of natural increase, crude birth, total fertility, and infant mortality. Developing countries have higher rates of natural increase, crude birth, total fertility, and infant mortality. We also talked about population structure. The x axis of a population graph will have the percent male displayed to the left of zero and percent female displayed to the right of zero. The y axis has age age cohorts typically grouped in 5 year intervals and youngest displayed at the bottom and oldest at the top.
