Today we started off our first human geo class of the year by talking about western civ which is our unit next semester. We then started talking about religion which is what we are talking about now. There are five major religions in the world. The biggest is christianity with around 2.2 billion people worldwide. They are known as Christians. Their geographic locations are Europe, the Americas, southern Africa. The denominations are the Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodox Church, Protestants (Lutherans, Methodists, Baptists, anglicans, Presbyterians, Episcopalians, and many more). The founder is Jesus Christ, and the holy book is the Bible. The next is Islam with around 1.5 billion people worldwide. We call these people Muslims and their geographic locations are Indonesia, the Middle East, and North Africa. Their denominations are 75-90% Sunnis, and 10-20%Sluntes. The founder is Muhammed and their holy book is the Qu'an. The last religion we learned today is Hinduism and they contain around d 1.1 billion people worldwide. We call them Hindus and their geographic locations are India and Nepal.
